Empowering & Ensuring Children's Rights

In Unnati’s working area of rural villages, many children live a long way from the nearest school, and this route often involves crossing difficult or dangerous terrain. This commonly includes routes through thick forests or across busy national highways. In many cases, parents are unwilling to let their children undertake this journey alone, resulting in many children being unable to attend school. Unnati operates a simple, cheap and innovative project that solves this issue through employing local women to escort groups of children to school each day. This has resulted in significant increases in school attendance in these communities.
